A very fine large Japanese carved ivory figure group, Meiji Period 1868-1912. Depicting a warrior carrying a bejin on his back, the girlĄs hair held up with a comb and flowers, wearing a flower decorated kimono, with a dragon decorated sash, holding aloft a devilish mask, the warrior with neatly trimmed moustache holding a sword with a dagger attached to his belt, on naturalistic pierced and carved plinth, the base signed within a rectangular stamp.

Dimensions: 13.2 High (33cm)
