A glass ?Cactus? table, model introduced in 1946. 28.5" High, 64" diameter. Each support engraved ?Lalique France? and smaller elements engraved 7-6-1989 No. 18. Perhaps one of Marc Lalique?s most impressive achievements is the Cactus Table. This masterpiece consists of six crystal cactus fronds, each arching up and back to support a round, glass top. This perfectly symmetrical structure weighs almost half of one ton! Each striated frond is decorated with crystal beads lining each side of the arm. At the table base, smaller fronds seem to be peeling away from the principal arms. Looking at this incredible architectural work of art, one can almost imagine being in an extraordinary cactus garden.
