A Japanese Ivory & Shibiyama model of a caparisoned elephant by Gyokko, Meiji Period 1868-1912. The jeweled elephant with Hotei and three karako seated in a howdah, a forth child on the creature_s head, inlaid in typical manner, the side panels carved with the remaining six Gods of Good Fortune, signed on a red lacquer tablet Gyokko.

Dimensions: Height 11 inches
