A Louis XV Style Ormolu-Mounted Mahogany Grand Piano, the movement by Gaveau, Paris, circa 1909 Labelled Modele 3 and numbered 50972 for 1909. The shaped ormolu-moulded top above panelled ormolu-banded quarter-veneered sides centered at the base with a shell, the seven octave ivory keyboard with scrolling acanthus-cast ends, the reverse of the shaped cover with GAVEAU/PARIS, the case with similar stamp and the works similarly cast with GAVEAU/PARIS on pierced foliage, and inscribed MODELE 3 and numbered 50972, above lyre form pedal support and tapering cabriole legs headed with rocaille shells. A R?gence style grand piano by Gaveau sold Christieˇs East, 10 October 2000, lot 533 ($58,750)
