A Louis XVI Style Ormolu-Mounted Kingwood & Marquetry Centre-Table. After the model by Jean-Henri Riesener, by Francois Linke, index nuber 251, Paris late 19th/early 20th century. The shaped rectangular top depicting an allegory of science, each corner with a circular floral rosette, the ormoluborder signed to the top F. Linke, above a central frieze drawer to the front, the sides and back each centered by a rectangular panel inlaid with cherubs emblematic of the Arts and Science, on tapering octagonel legs and acanthus-cast sabots; the top with shaped protective glass.
