The circular enamelled dial with Roman chapters, inscribed ”EDW F. Caldwell & Co./NEW YORK, suspending beaded tasseled chains, supported on ram”s head monopodiae centered by an oval jasperware cartouche depicting Venus and Cupid, on a shaped ormolu base and rectangular verde antico marble plinth.
